Great hike to get away for a couple of days. Very rewarding. You will get wet.
This trail to the falls is 16.7 miles long and requires you to cross the river 42 times. While I've never completed the entire trail to the falls on Jack's River, I know a few who have. I've used it primarily for day-hike enjoyment. The kids love crossing through the stream and just hanging out. We count the number of river crossings to see if we can meet or beat our last attempt. For those who want to hike to the falls, be prepared to spend the night as the pace is just too slow to think about doubling back before dark. If your end goal is to see the falls, please drive further up the road on to Beech Bottom Trail. That is a 3 mile hike on an old logging road that anyone can manage.
All I can think is when I'm gettin back!!
