We've hiked and biked the same trails for years, which we love, but we were looking for some new ones to explore. The girl at the front desk was very helpful, there are a lot of maps for many other areas in the forest to check out too. It's a good idea to get an annual pass if you hang out here a lot instead of fumbling with change and filling out passes.
This is a very interesting place to visit. It is a cool sight to see people whitewater raft down the rapids. The TVA controls the water level of the river, and to my knowledge, it is only high enough for whitewater on the weekends. So with that being said, if you come during the week expect to see a lot of rocks and pools of calm water instead of a raging river. It is still a really neat place to visit and the scenery is pristine; though the banks of the river are man made. Overall it is beautiful and blends seamlessly in with the natural surroundings.
Great little spot to hike and enjoy water and scenery. Full of interesting sites like bridges and mountains. Plus home of the 96 Olympic games. Small museum style exhibits.
If you ride by it you are cheating yourself. This was y the site for the 1996 Olympic Games and offers, at its worst, a beautiful music of nature and history; and at its best it's that plus a great swimming hole. Best thing? It's $3 a day and you can use that yeah at any other location in the area.
Glorious trails set among the trees and Ocoee River. The building is surprisingly spacious with excellent photo opportunities all over. A nice paved path follows the river and it's easy to picture in your mind's eye all the Olympic competitors and spectators many years ago. If you're driving the scenic two-lane roads around here this is definitely worth your while to stop, even if only for a short while. I would have liked to have spent a half day or longer exploring the trails.
